Ander Herrera has vowed to do whatever is in his power to stop David De Gea leaving Manchester United this summer.
His comments come amid persistent speculation linking the Spanish goalkeeper with a move to Real Madrid.
The shot-stopper was on the verge of joining the European champions in 2015. Everything had been agreed but paperwork was filed too late for the deal to go through.
After both clubs blamed each other for the move collapsing De Gea signed a new contract at Old Trafford that runs until 2019.
Despite that Real Madrid are understood to remain keen to sign the former Atletico Madrid player, with reports suggesting they could table a bid in the region of £60million.

Manchester United are in no mood to sell and are expected to reject any approach.
And it would seem Herrera, a close friend of De Gea’s, will do his bit to keep his team-mate at Old Trafford.
‘He’s happy and I know this is going to sound repetitive because I always say the same but David is one of the few keepers who wins you points,’ said Herrera during Manchester United’s pre-season tour of the United States.
‘I’m going to do everything I can to make sure he stays.’
De Gea played the first half of Manchester United’s pre-season friendly win over LA Galaxy and is expected to feature again tonight when the Red Devils take on Real Salt Lake.
