The Italy international has enjoyed a stellar breakthrough season with the Serie A side, scoring 28 goals in all competitions and earning his first senior cap for the national side.
The 23-year-old’s form has triggered interest from a number of Premier League heavyweights but Cairo insists he will do everything within his powers to ensure last season’s top scorer remains at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino.
‘I’m not thinking about selling Belotti,’ he said at a promotional event in Milan, reports Gazzetta dello Sport.
‘Belotti’s my player, we only renewed his contract recently. Our objective is to keep him.
‘After that, there’s a release clause that would force me to sell him, providing someone came in with €100m from abroad.
Andrea Belotti’s Serie A Season
‘We’ll see… I haven’t talked to him yet, he’s currently with the national team.
‘We’ll see how things go, but our objective would be to keep him.’
Both Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte are keen to bolster their attacking options next season ahead of impending returns to the Champions League.
Chelsea appear to have won the race to sign Romelu Lukaku but United could well turn to Belotti following Antoine Griezmann’s decision to commit to Atletico Madrid although Alvaro Morata is also reported to be Mourinho’s primary target.
Belotti, meanwhile, signed a new long-term contract last December which was said to have included a €100 million release clause.
